      Day 1: Vientiane (arrival)
      Upon arrival at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, transfer to your hotel in town (early check-in upon availability).
       
      Overnight in Vientiane.
       
    • Day 2: Vientiane (city tour)
      In the morning, we will first visit Wat Si Muang, which is very famous for its supernatural power. After that drive to Buddha Park which takes around 45 minutes away. Also known as Xieng Khuan, this unusual park is filled with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues.
       
      Returning to town, visit COPE, an association working to help landmine victims. A visit to the center provides in-depth information about the history of the American/Vietnam war and the lasting impact of unexploded ordinances (UXO) in the area and the efforts underway to clear them.
       
      Start the afternoon with a visit to That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. Constructed by King Setthathirat in the 16th century, the temple is resplendent as the sun is shines upon its towering golden spire.
       
      Then, enjoy a panoramic view over the city as you climb the stairs to the top of Patuxai, Vientiane’s own “Arc de Triomphe”. Continue down Lane Xang Avenue the serene Wat Sisaket, the only temple left intact after the Siamese (Thai) invasion in 1828. Continue on to the nearby Wat Phra Keo. Used as a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art.
       
      End your tour of the capital along the banks of the Mekong River as the sun begins to set. Stroll along the river, stop to enjoy a cold drink, or sample a snack from one of the many local food stalls.

    • Day 3: Vientiane → Ban Thaheua
      You have ample time to relax and stroll around the town of Vientiane before leaving the capital early for our journey northbound to Ban Thaheua via the highway Vientiane – Vang vieng.
       
      We will see some breathtaking scenery enroute as we pass through spectacular countryside towards the mountainous region.
      We will arrive in Ban Thaheua around noon, which locates at the north side of Nam Ngum Lake, the “sea of Laos”.
       
      We will check in the bungalow overlooking the lake. Leisure time for the rest of the day to relax or stroll around for your own exploration.

    • Day 4: Ban Thaheua → Vang Vieng
      After breakfast, Embark on a journey from the Resort, passing by the local primary school with opportunities to visit children on school days. Explore Tha Heua local market and the village temple, immersing yourself in the local culture. Observe the vibrant displays at the town’s fish stalls and make a noteworthy stop at the renowned dry fish market, a must-visit for local travelers in the region. Take a break in Houy Pa Mom village for a coffee/tea session in a local home, appreciating the art of hand weaving. Continue with a visit to a Hmong village nestled along the banks of the Nam Ngum lake. Conclude the excursion with a scenic cycle ride back to the Sanctuary Nam Ngum Beach Resort.
       
      In the afternoon, transfer to Vang Vieng. You are free for the rest of the day.

    • Day 5: Vang Vieng → Luang Prabang
      We will take the morning train to Luang Prabang, which takes about 1 hour. After that, our guide will take you on an in-depth walking tour of the city. The walk is oriented towards the lesser-known parts of the town including charming lanes showing the more traditional atmosphere of the heritage town. Along the way, we will see the four different types of buildings categorized by UNESCO.
       
      The first one is the traditional Lao house which is made from tropical hardwood or bamboo and built on stilts. The second is a half wood and half cement house built after the arrival of the French. The third is the traditional French colonial building that are similar to those found in Vietnam and Cambodia. The last form of architecture you will see is the old Chinese shop houses that were built to be used for both commercial and residential purposes.

    • Day 6: Luang Prabang (city tour & surroundings)
      Wake up as the sun rises, we will prepare to join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alms giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temple to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets. We then visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace which offers a glimpse into daily life, with vendors selling fresh produce, handmade crafts, and textiles. These experiences provide a unique and authentic cultural immersion.
       
      After breakfast, you will first visit Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. We then embark on a leisure cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims.
       
      Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine.
      On arrival back in the city, we will visit the old Wat Sene and the nearby magnificent Wat Xiengthong a superb piece of Lao temple architecture, which presents a sweeping two-tiered roof and ornate mosaics including a beautiful ‘tree of life ‘glass montage on the rear temple wall.
       
      Next, we will visit Heuan Chan, a 19th-century aristocratic mansion that offers a glimpse into Lao culture through traditional ceremonies, textiles, and family life. This restored mansion stands as a testament to Lao heritage, featuring enriching exhibitions and a documentary on Laos’ customs. After the visit, we’ll have the opportunity to taste authentic Lao coffee or tea, providing a true taste of Laos.
       
      Late afternoon, we will make a stop at Wat Prabath to admire the sunset; this is the ideal place to catch the last beauty of the day. The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can find a lovely collection of handmade textiles made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.
       
      Optional: If you are fond of various ethnic cultures, you can visit Traditional Art and Ethnology Center (closed on Monday).

    • Day 7: Luang Prabang (visit the surroundings)
      Embark on an immersive exploration of daily life in Laos today, starting with a morning visit to a community-based living rice farm nestled in the picturesque countryside outside Luang Prabang. Surrounded by serene mountains and lush rice paddies, you’ll have the chance to engage in rural activities, trying your hand at various farming tasks or observing them from the vantage point of a traditional Lao rice house balcony, surrounded by rice terraces and an organic vegetable farm.
       
      Explore nearby workshops where local artisans practice their crafts, from bamboo weaving to blacksmithing and sugar cane processing. Afterwards, delve into the secrets of traditional medicine as you tour the organic garden, discovering the natural herbs used in Laotian healing practices.
       
      In the afternoon, journey directly to the stunning Kuang Si waterfalls, the largest in the Luang Prabang region, with three tiers cascading into spectacular azure pools before flowing downstream. These pools, a favorite among both tourists and locals, provide excellent swimming opportunities. A brief visit to the Bear Rescue Center follows, offering a glimpse of animals rescued from poachers and traffickers.
       
      Venture to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, located serenely close to the Mekong River. This traditionally styled workshop, surrounded by weavers, spinners, and batik makers, produces top-quality fabrics. Enjoy a complimentary tour every half-hour to witness the creation of these intricate crafts.
       
      Conclude your day with a return transfer to your hotel in Luang Prabang.

    • Day 8: Luang Prabang → Siem Reap
      Enjoy breakfast at hotel.
       
      Spend your leisure time in the city until we transfer you to airport for flight to Siem Reap.

    • Day 9: Siem Reap
      In the morning, you will visit Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. Then, you will continue your visit to Ta Prohm, a stunning temple complex with trees and vegetation growing around and through its structures. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.
       
      In the afternoon, you will visit Angkor Wat, the most famous of all the temples in Angkor. Angkor Wat is a massive temple complex and is one of the largest religious monuments in the world.
       
      In the evening, enjoy buffet dinner and watch Khmer Traditional Dance Show at a local restaurant.

    • Day 10: Siem Reap
      We depart the city at 8:00am and head to Koh Ker, which takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, we will venture into the deserted ruins and surrounding forest and explore the Koh Ker temple complex, the former capital of the Angkorian empire during the years AD 928 to AD 944.
       
      10.30am, we drive back to Siem Reap. On the way back, we stop at two famous temples: Prasat Neang Khmaw & Prasat Pram. Lunch at a local restaurant near Beng Mealea temple.
       
      1.30pm, we visit Beng Mealea temple. Enjoy a short walk through the dense jungle and discover the wonders of an overgrown temple, Beng Mealea, which lay undiscovered for centuries. We proceed to the last one that we visit today, Banteay Srey, the “gem” of the Angkor area.

    • Day 11: Siem Reap (departure)
      Morning, breakfast at hotel. Rest of the day is your leisure time to explore Siem Reap on your own until we transfer you to airport for your departure flight. (B)
